COMMAND IS A FOUR LETTER WORD

Command is a four letter word. We don’t like being told what to do; however, it’s part of our daily life. We are told:  to pay taxes, when to put our garbage out, to be at work at a certain time, to complete an assignment, etc. Although we don’t like it, for the most part, we obey the commands of men. Conversely, the commands of God are often ignored – even defied. So, this week we are examining the Ten Commandments and how they influence our behavior – or not.

DO WE SQUANDER PRAYER?

Talking to the Creator of the universe is unparalleled to any privilege we have on earth. Nevertheless, too often my mantra is similar to Vanessa from the series Last Man Standing. In one episode Vanessa tells her husband that she would prefer to stay home and complete her “to do” list, instead of attending church and praying that the list is accomplished.  I empathize with Vanessa, do you? SHORTNESS OF LIFE: ARE WE READY?

Shortness of life, do you contemplate that reality? It’s funny, I check expiration dates religiously on labels; however, I’m not nearly as cognizant of time’s expiration date. But I should be. After all, I can buy more milk, I can’t purchase additional time.
